Shirley Ann (Moore) Nelson
Shirley Ann Nelson, age 79 of Girard, Pa. died early Tuesday morning, June 8, 2021 at her home with her family close by.
Shirley was born in Titusville, Pa on June 29, 1941 the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mae Ota (Stewart) Moore. She worked over 25 years at Plastek Industries in Erie and belonged to both the VFW Lodges in Girard and West Springfield. She also attended the Fairview Senior City when she could.
In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed putting puzzles together, going to yard sales, and a major life accomplishment for her was that she wrote and published a book, “Jason’s Revenge”. Of all the things she liked to do, her most favorite thing was family get together picnics and being with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Nelson in 2005, and two sons; Josh Nelson and Casey McCammon.
She is survived by her children; Archie McCammon and George (Mary) McCammon all of N. Carolina, Kelly (Gretchen) McCammon of Erie, Pa, Veronica (Joy) Nelson of Lake City, Pa., James Nelson of Girard, Pa., and a step-daughter, Cindy (Marty) Moore of Girard, Pa. She is also survived by two brothers; Irvin Moore of Titusville, Pa. and Pete (Peggy) Moore of Erie, Pa.; and three sisters; Mae Miller of Hanover, Pa., Florine Hinspeter of Lake City, Pa., and Christine (Delbert) Vargason of Centerville, Pa., along with nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa., from 4 to the time of the service at 7 p.m.
