Russell P Mosier

May 21, 1939 — September 17, 2018

Russell P. Mosier, age 79 of Albion, Pa. took the Lord’s hand and was guided home late Monday night, September 17, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pa.

Russ was born in Erie, Pa on May 21, 1939, the son of the late Paul and Idabelle (Shauberger) Mosier.

He retired from the Operating Engineers Local #66 Union as a Heavy Equipment Operator where he manned a backhoe much of his career.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army and in his spare time he was an avid CB radio handler known as “Jumbo Trailblazer” and enjoyed feeding the deer and turkey, fishing, hunting, riding his four wheeler and spending time with his grandsons, teaching them the fine art of fishing and learning the ways to enjoy the great outdoors as he did.

Besides his parents, Russell is preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Parmerter and a brother, Harry Mosier.

He is survived by his wife of 56 wonderful years of marriage, Sandy (Gulu) Mosier whom he married on March 17, 1962. He is also survived by a daughter Valerie Sisson of Edinboro and three Grandsons; Cody Parmerter, Taylor Sisson, and Russell “RJ” Sisson.

Russell requested no calling hours or services since he was a quiet man.  He wanted to be remembered for the person that he was.  He will be laid to rest in Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa.  Arrangements were handled with care and love by the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home.  Please feel free to light a candle in remembrance of Russ at www.jeanevansthompsonfh.com.

Memorial Donations may be made in Russell’s Memory to the family which may be sent to the funeral home, P.O. Box 235, East Springfield, PA 16411.
