Melvin W. Case
Melvin W. Case, age 83 of East Springfield, Pa. went home to be with the Lord late Friday evening, January 30, 2015 at Edinboro Manor Nursing Home.
Melvin was born in North Girard, Pa. on November 16, 1931, the son of the late Frank McCoy and Bessie M. (Borland) Case.
He graduated from high school and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He came home, met his sweetheart, Phyliss M. (Dana) Case whom he married on January 13, 1962. He worked at Sylvan Sales in Lake City for many years. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and was a member of the Conneaut Grange, VFW Post #4965 in West Springfield, Pa. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and being out in the woods. He loved the outdoors.
Besides his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Besides his wife of 53 years, he is survived by three children: Julye and her husband, Doug Bush of Chenango Forks, NY; Jennefer and her husband, Jim Cornwell of Erie, Pa.; and Eugene “Bud” Case of East Springfield, Pa. Melvin is also survived by four grandchildren: Alex and Madelyne Bush and Benjamin and Olivia Cornwell and several nieces and nephews.
A Time of Gathering will be held at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home at 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow being officiated by Pastor Mel Bendig of the Calvary United Methodist Church.
