Kit H. Kramer, age 82 of Girard, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 27, 2026, at LECOM Nursing and Rehab Center.
Kit was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 3, 1943, the son of the late Henry W. and Gertrude (Wagner) Kramer. He was a member of the Graduating Class of 1961 from Garfield Heights High School in Cleveland and upon graduation he went to work at Ferro Corp. He met his wife, Carol Zurn, in his confirmation class in 1955 and they were married on May 11, 1963. He and Carol moved to Girard, Pa., and he began working at Zurn Aluminum Products where he worked in construction, awnings, door, and window installation from 1967 to 2022.
Kit was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Girard, Pa where he served on the church council. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and building things, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Kit was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Zurn) Briggs, and Carol A. Kramer; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Bob) Zurn and Robert (Bob) McGuire.
Besides his wife, Carol, married 62 years, Kit is survived by his children: Scott (Kristina) Kramer of Seven Fields, Pa, Mark (Kristin) Kramer of Girard, Pa., Sherri (Charles) Macierowski of Murrysville, Pa., and Todd (Jeri) Kramer of New Cumberland, Pa. He is survived by his sister, Karen McGuire, brother Randy (Rita) Kramer, sister-in-law, Juleann Zurn and a brother-in-law, Tom Briggs. Kit is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Alex and Aaron Kramer, Katie (Jacob) Stringer, Chase (Caroline), Colton (Lizzy), Jessica, and Haley Macierowski, Kassidy, Kaylee, and Kendall Kramer; two great-grandchildren: Caden and Carter Macierowski and several nieces and nephews.
A grave-side service will be held at Springfield Cemetery in East Springfield, Pa. on a date to be determined with Rev. Michael Snider of the St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church, 8942 W. Ridge Road, Girard, PA 16417, or a charity of your choosing. Arrangements have been made with love and care by the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, PA.
