Karen Sue (Diehl) Ylisaari
Karen S. Ylisaari, age 67, of West Springfield, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Fairview Manor in Fairview, Pa., where she had been recently residing.
Karen was born in Erie, Pa., on August 22, 1947, the daughter of the late Ernest and Doris (Lasch) Diehl.
Karen worked most recently at WEST Corporation as a telemarketer, and previously worked at Springfield Plastics, Inc. in East Springfield. She was a member of the Federated Church in East Springfield. Karen enjoyed many things in life. She enjoyed reading, being in the outdoors, playing Bingo, and going to the casino. She really enjoyed and loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Besides her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Ylisaari. Her husband, Max Shull and a brother, Raymond Diehl.
She is survived by a son, Trevor and his wife, Linda Ylisaari of Conneaut, OH and a brother, David and his wife, Judy Diehl of West Springfield, Pa. Karen is also survived by three grandchildren: Britny Ylisaari of Columbus, OH; Amelia “Amy” Ylisaari of Akron, OH; and David Snyder of Ashtabula, OH.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa. on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 until the time of the service at 6 p.m. officiated by Pastor Ed Huntley of the Federated Church.
