Joseph Juan Roman

Joseph Roman, age 19 of Girard, passed away at  his home early Monday, December 01, 2014.

Joe  was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on June 10,1995.  He is the biological son of Julio Roman and Cassandra Caughlin and the adopted son of Virgil Pettis, Sr. and the late Eileen (Mansfield) Pettis who were also his Great-Grandparents.

When Joseph was little, he enjoyed wrestling with his dad and playing catch.  He was later adopted  by Virgil and Eileen Pettis when Joe was about five years old.  They worked with him and tried to give and teach him all the things that little boys did.  He grew up and graduated from the Girard High School in June 2014.  He liked to work with electronics and playing video games, a lot of fishing and going for rides with his papa or dad, Virgil.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother and Great-Grandmother, Eileen (Mansfield) Pettis in 2007.

Besides his parents, Joe is survived by his Great-Grandpa (Dad); and three brothers:  Wesley Pettis and his wife, Debbie of Albion, Pa.; Daniel Lee Pettis and his wife, Sandra of Haltom City, Tx.; and Virgil Pettis, Jr. of Girard, Pa.  He is also survived by many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.  Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
