George G. Deas

George G. Deas, age 80 of Girard, Pa., died peacefully at his home with his family around him on Wednesday morning, June 25, 2014.

George was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 2, 1933, the son of the late Joseph and Minnie Deas.   He served in the Royal Navy for seventeen years and then went to work for Thomas  Erie Inc. in Germany and then came to the United States where he continued to work for the same company for over forty three years.

George was a member of the Girard American Legion and the VFW Post #740.  He enjoyed working on ponds in his back yard and entertaining friends.  He cherished his wife, Pauline and his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of twenty seven years, Pauline C. Deas and a daughter, Jennifer Deas of Feasterville, Pa and two Grandsons; Zach G. and Eric Deas also of Feasterville, Pa.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main Street, East Springfield, Pa.  Memorial Donations may be made to the Regional Home Health and Hospice, 3526 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508.
