Elizabeth VanDyke

Elizabeth VanDyke, age 82 of Erie, PA passed away quietly at her home on January 30, 2025 with her family by her side.

Elizabeth was born in Erie, Pa on October 27, 1942, the daughter of the late George R. and Mae L. (Brindle) Vargo.

She worked for many years at Johnson Controls and Plasteks, In Erie, and also waitressed and bartended for several and various establishments in the Erie area. Elizabeth had many hobbies that she enjoyed doing when she wasn’t working such as; knitting and crafting, and reading books. Her favorite author being Stephen King.

 Besides her parents, Elizabeth was preceded In death by a son, Vincent VanDyke; two brothers, David and Wayne Vargo and a sister, Patricia Aldrich; and a grandson, David VanDyke.

She is survived by her children: Laurie (Albert) Ballew, Lisa Forness (Tom Lee), David (Kathy) VanDyke, and Erik VanDyke. She is also survived by a sister, a brother, and six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

There will be no services at this time for Elizabeth. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to UPMC Family Hospice group for their compassionate help during such a difficult time.
