Bruce E. Johnson

Bruce E. Johnson, age 63 of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday November 10, 2016. 


He was born on October 5, 1953, the son of the late Alvin C. and Florence E. (Wolfel) Johnson.

 Bruce worked most of his life at International Paper, formerly Hammermill Paper.  He also worked at ERS and Sam’s Cub in the Auto Dept.  He graduated from East High School in 1970  where he met his future wife, Carol A. (Clause) Johnson.  They were married on July 23, 1973 at St. Stanislaus Church.

 He was a hard-working man.  He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguin Hockey and Pirate Baseball.  He also enjoyed remodeling his home and fixing cars.

Bruce loved spending time with his four children and four grandchildren.  He was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral where he was on the Pastor’s Council with his wife, Carol, and a volunteer for many years.  He was also a member of the St. Peter’s Knights of Columbus.

 Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carol A. (Clause) Johnson.  Daughter, Stacy M. Bizzarro (Jason) of Erie, PA.; Sons, Darrell P. Johnson (Joyce); Brandon M. Johnson and Preston P. Johnson all of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Four Grandchildren:  Katelynn and Christian Bizzarro and Skye and Hunter Johnson.

He is also survived by four sisters:  Viola Jones (Myron) of Spring Hill, FL; Linda Dowell (Jerry) of Bradford, PA.; Jenn Pistner (Tom) of Rixford, PA.; and Gail Ross (Ray) of Jamestown, NY. He also is survived by three brothers:  Alvin Johnson, Jr., and Mark Johnson of Bradford, PA. and Jack Johnson of Datona, FL.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Rob Johnson.
