Arleen H. Crawford

Arleen H. Crawford, age 99, of East Springfield, was guided by the hand of the Lord through Heaven’s door on Wednesday evening, February 7, 2018 at her home. 

Arleen was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on October 10, 1918, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ann (Smith) Irwin.

For many years, Arleen worked as a cashier at the Girard Buyer’s Fair Plaza Golden Dawn Grocery Store.  She was a member of the West Springfield Baptist Church where she spent many Sundays listening to the Gospel  and learning about Jesus.  She enjoyed crocheting and shopping.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Crawford in 1983 and a Daughter, Elaine Fisher, several sisters, and several brothers.

Arleen is survived by four children:   Robert Crawford (Susan) of Girard, Pa; Mary Ann Wolf (Thomas ) of East Springfield; and Pat Crawford of Girard; and James Crawford of East Springfield, Pa.  She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren.

 Family will receive friends at the West Springfield Baptist Church in West Springfield from 10 a.m.  to the time of the Services at Noon on Saturday, February 10, 2018 with Pastor Andrew Shields, officiating.  A graveside committal service will follow at the Springfield Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at the Church provided by the ladies.
