Charles “Tom” Strange

Charles T. Strange, age 87, of Albion, Pa., was led home by the hand of God to greet those who had passed on before him.  His family will sadly miss him, but smile knowing that he is at peace and is no longer hurting.

Tom, as most people called Charles, was born in Clay City, Kentucky on May 28, 1930, the son of the late Charlie and Bertha (Barnes) Strange.

He worked for many years as a mattress maker at Burman’s Beddings and then at Riley Stokers as a steel worker.  In his spare time, Tom enjoyed shooting pool, listening to blue grass and country music, watching Dale Earnhardt, Sr. drive NASCAR racing, and driving his own car at Erie Speedway for the fun of it.

Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Ann Strange; four daughters:  an infant, Bertha, Cora Mooney, Judy Gariepy, and Emma Keith.  A granddaughter, Shiela Strange and a brother, Lenville Strange.

Charles “Tom” Strange is survived by his girlfriend, Virginia Hammond of Albion, Pa., and four sons:  George (Theresa) Strange, Eddie (Cheryl) Strange, J.R. Strange, Jimmy Strange; and three daughters:  Mary Della Taylor, Debbie (Lewis) Start, and Barbara Gordon.  He is also survived by a brother, Harold (Jean) Strange of Kentucky and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home on Monday evening, March 5, 2018 from 6 -8 p.m. and are invited to attend Life Celebration Services on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Byron Gurnee of the Keepville  Wesleyan Methodist Church, Officiating.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Cranesville, Pa.
