Carolyn Jenkins Kane
Carolyn Jenkins Kane, age 76, of East Springfield, was guided home by Angels wings on Friday evening, February 23, 2018 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa.
Carolyn was born in Troy, Alabama on December 27, 1941, the daughter of the late Otis and Mildred (Copeland) Tolbert.
Carolyn retired after thirty years from the Copes Vulcan in Girard, Pa. She had also worked as as cook at Camp Fitch also catering at various camps in the area. She became a foster parent through the Office of Children and Youth. Carolyn was a member of the New Leaf United Methodist Church in Conneaut, Ohio where she enjoyed cooking for the Friday night dinners and Sunday morning breakfast. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and doing arts and crafts with the kids and she was a volunteer childrens’ advocate for the Foster Parent’s Association and the Office of Children and Youth which dealed with troubled teens and juveniles. Carolyn loved to play golf all over the country and travel; but most of all, loved her Grandchildren to the moon and back! Her girls called her the “Fashionista!”
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mose “Pete” Jenkins in 2008, a brother and a sister.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Larry J. Kane, four daughters: Patricia Jones (James), Wanda Elston (Arnold), Yvonne Payton (Michael), and Rhoda Davis (Chris); and three sons: Lorenzo “Joe” Jenkins, Loren Jenkins (Ashley), and Lerrone Jenkins; four sisters, and five brothers, several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
